Peddlers, solicitors, and transient merchants must complete a permit application before roaming neighborhoods. All peddlers will be subject to a background check and must pass. Employers may turn in several permit applications at a time with a copy of the employees’ licenses, or employees may turn in their own application and present their license. Permits will not be granted for at least 48 hours (or more) until background checks are completed. Peddlers operating without a permit will be subject to disciplinary action up to the discretion of the Wind Point police, including citation.
The permit application can be found here. Forms and fees can be returned to the Wind Point Village office at 215 E. Four Mile Rd., Racine, WI 53402. A daily permit is $20, and a monthly permit is $50. At this time, we can only accept cash or check.
