Job opening – Police Chief

The Village of Wind Point is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Police Chief. This position is the head of staff of 13 part-time officers. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, associate degree or 60 college credits, as well as a minimum of five years of experience as a full-time law enforcement officer.

The ideal candidate must also possess Law Enforcement Certification granted by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Training & Standards Board. Prior supervisory experience in a police department preferred, and the ideal candidate must complete a successful background check.

The position is a working position, so the selected candidate will have demonstrated leadership and communication skills and be willing and able to get their hands dirty every day. Overnight and weekend work may be required on short notice, and the Chief is expected to cover any shifts not filled by the department’s officers.
