Volunteers gathered at the Memorial Brick Garden at the Wind Point Lighthouse on Oct. 3 to start replanting foliage. The volunteers consisted of members of the Parks, Recreation, Lighthouse & Facilities Committee; Wind Point Garden Club; and Village staff.
The first round of plantings consists of blooming shrubs. Volunteers will plant perennial flowers in the spring.
The Parks, Recreation, Lighthouse & Facilities Committee worked with Millaeger’s, the Wind Point Garden Club, the Master Gardeners and the Village’s Public Works Department to refine the design of the garden and schedule the planting.
The Village extends its gratitude to Elizabeth Waterfall, Cheryl Foley, Susan Arts, Tom Beard, Joe Huser and also to the Public Works Department and lighthouse staff for their efforts in moving the garden project forward.
