Slag seal road maintenance work was completed on Monday, June 16 on the following roads: Eldorado Dr., Holiday Dr., Old Pine Cir., White Sand Ln., Citation Dr., Viken Ln., Starlight Dr., Darby Pl., Park Pl. and Wind Point Rd. (public portion). Vacuum sweeping off the loose slag will be completed within 10 days of the work.
Seal sealing is an economical surface treatment that prolongs the life of asphalt by stopping erosion from water and oxidation from the sun. Timely preventative maintenance like this helps avoid extremely costly street rebuilding in the future.
If any gritty slag material ends up on your property, you may sweep the slag into the ditch to reduce tracking of the slag into your home or business.
To minimize the tracking of gritty slag material into your home, brush your shoes’ soles well or remove them; brush off your pet’s feet. Grit can be easily swept or vacuumed up. Use any citrus-based cleaner to remove any oil tracked in.
