Thank you to the 107 residents who participated in the parks survey! The purpose of the survey was to gather feedback on park planning and the scope of improvements residents may be interested in. The survey was available online from April 1 to May 15.

Highlights from the survey results:

  • 44.9% of respondents use Village Green Park weekly or monthly during warmer months. The most popular amenities are the open space, playground equipment and tennis courts.
  • 56.6% of respondents are Very Supportive of creating a park plan. 35.5% are Somewhat Supportive and 7.9% are Not Supportive.
  • In terms of improvements to Village Green park, respondents are most interested in updating the playground, improving landscaping, adding a walking path, enhancing a picnic area and adding a shelter. Respondents are less supportive of a ballfield, dog-friendly area and community vegetable garden.
  • 28.3% of respondents are Very Interested in creating a green park on the west side of the lighthouse grounds, while 49.1% are Somewhat Interested and 22.6% are Not Interested. 80.4% of respondents feel Village Green should have the highest priority.
