The 2015 Wind Point Lighthouse Tower Climbs begin again this year on June 7 and continue the first Sunday of each month until the last climb on October 4. There are usually many more climbers in the morning than later in the day so this year the Friends of the Lighthouse will begin the climbs at 9 a.m. and conclude them at the 3:30 p.m climb.

Additionally, to facilitate a more efficient reservation system, the Friends have developed an on-line reservation system for tours that begin on the hour.  Walk-ups can always join tours on the 1/2 hour, but without a reserved place, you may have to wait.  The Fog Horn Building Museum will be open as will the Museum Sales Shop.  The Friends of the Lighthouse have some great new items in the shop, so be sure to include that in your tour.

Please visit the Friends’ web site (www.windpointlighthouse.com) and click on the “Tours” page.  The instructions explain how to reserve your place(s).  The cost is still $10 for those over 12 and $5 for ages 6-12 to be paid through Paypal.  Unfortunately, due to safety concerns, children under 6 are not allowed to climb.  Please be aware that there are 144 steps to get to the top, but it’s a wonderful view from the top of the tower.  Hopefully, everyone in Wind Point has made the climb or encouraged their friends and family to do so.

Reservations should be made on-line by noon of the Saturday before the climb day.  This provides our Tour Coordinator time to organize a great experience for you.

We are looking forward to the 2015 season and hope to see many of you there.
