The Spring General Election was held on Tuesday, April 7 at the Prairie School (Johnson Athletic Center). A total of 37.8% of Wind Point electors cast ballots.Click here to view the local results.

At the close of the polls, there were 5 outstanding absentee ballots. Any absentee ballots received by Friday, April 10 that were postmarked on or before April 7 will be counted toward the final election results.

The spring ballot includes races for village president, village trustee, municipal judge, county executive, school board, state supreme court justice and circuit court judges, as well as a statewide referendum question. To view a sample ballot, click here.

Absentee Voting

Absentee ballots were mailed out to electors on the permanent absentee list by March 17. Other registered electors could request to receive an absentee ballot by mail by filing an application in the Village Office. Alternatively, electors can cast an absentee ballot in-person at the Village Office during regular business hours beginning Monday, March 23 through Friday, April 3.

Voter Registrations
Residents who need to register or re-register due to change of address, name change or inactive registration, can do so by filing a voter registration application and providing a valid proof of residence at the Village Office by April 3 or at the polling place on Election Day.
Political Signs
Just a reminder that signs of any kind are prohibited from being placed in the public right-of-way (measured approximately 30 feet from the centerline of a public road). If Village personnel notice a sign placed in the right-of-way it will be removed. In addition, please be respectful of political signs placed in others’ yards. Removing or defacing another’s signs is a criminal offense.
