Are you interested in serving the community by being a member of the Wind Point Village Board? Due to an upcoming vacancy, the Village of Wind Point is currently accepting applications for Village Trustee. Letters of interest and qualifications will be accepted by Monday, November 6 at 4 p.m. All applicants will be required to appear at the Village Board meeting on November 9 at 5:30 p.m. for an interview.

On October 10, Trustee David Heller announced that he will be re-locating and will need to step down from from his trustee position on October 31. David served on the Board for nearly three terms and he will be sorely missed on the Board and in Wind Point!

On October 12, the Board discussed an application and appointment process in accordance with state statutes. The trustee position has a term expiring in April 2018; if the newly appointed individual wishes to serve on the Board beyond April, he or she will need to submit nomination papers by January 2 and be elected in the April 3 election.

Only Village residents who are at least 18 years old and are legal citizens of the United States are eligible to serve on the Village Board. Letters of interest and qualifications should be submitted to the Village Administrator, Michael Hawes, at the Village Office (215 E. Four Mile Rd.) or by e-mail to [email protected] by the deadline of 4 p.m. on Monday, November 6.
