The Village Board and staff are working together to prepare a fiscally responsible budget for 2017 that maintains a high level of services at a reasonable tax rate. Budget workshop meetings will be held by the Personnel, Finance and Insurance Committee on September 2 and September 30. A full draft of the budget will be reviewed by the Village Board on October 13 and the budget is expected to be adopted after a public hearing on November 10.
The current budget timeline is outlined below. Please note that meeting dates and times are subject to change and any updates will be provided on this webpage and on all official meeting notices.
- Friday, September 2 at 4:00 p.m. (Village Office) – Personnel, Finance and Insurance Committee meeting to review 2016 year-to-date and projected figures; review rough 2017 budget draft and provide direction to staff.
- September 6 – September 27 – Staff prepares 2017 budget requests.
- Friday, September 30 at 3 p.m. (Village Office) – Personnel, Finance and Insurance Committee reviews draft budget.
- Thursday, October 13 at 5:30 p.m. (Village Hall) – Village Board holds budget workshop during reguarly scheduled Village Board meeting.
- Wednesday, October 26 – Village Administrator publishes budget summary and public hearing notice (at least 15 days before hearing).
- Thursday, November 10 at 5:30 p.m. – Village Board holds budget public hearing and adopts budget at regularly scheduled Village Board meeting.
